 Are you interested in making a difference to the lives of unpaid family carers across the North of Tyne area?

North Tyneside Carers’ Centre, Newcastle Carers and Carers Northumberland are excited to deliver a new project to expand provision for unpaid carers who are looking to return to work, or, for those who are in work and struggling to juggle work alongside caring. This project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund with the North of Tyne Combined Authority as the lead authority.

The postholders will work with a range of employers across the North of Tyne to improve their understanding of carers and the impact of their caring responsibilities. They will support employers to recognise their employment responsibilities in supporting carers, particularly in relation to the Carers Leave Act and work with them to identify, engage and offer alternative support solutions for carers in the workplace.

The postholder will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in an employability engagement role. They will have knowledge of the local labour market in the North of Tyne region and be able to confidently communicate with small, medium and large employers to influence change.  They will also have a strong commitment to inclusive team-working and be flexible and innovative in their approach. Excellent organisational and IT skills, as well as good interpersonal skills are essential.

The post will be required to travel throughout the North of Tyne area therefore it is essential that you are a car user.
