Are you interested in making a difference to the lives of unpaid family carers across the North of Tyne area?
North Tyneside Carers’ Centre, Newcastle Carers and Carers Northumberland are excited to deliver a new project to expand provision for unpaid carers who are looking to return to work, or, for those who are in work and struggling to juggle work alongside caring. This project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund with the North of Tyne Combined Authority as the lead authority.
The postholders will provide specialist one-to-one support to unpaid carers and explore options to overcome or reduce the specific work-related barriers they face to return to work, training, and/or education. They will support carers on their employment journey to prepare CVs, developed interview skills and liaise with employers and education/training providers to match carers with appropriate work, training, and/or education opportunities.
The postholder will have experience in an employability background, or experience of providing one to one support information, advice and guidance to carers. They will have the ability to develop effective external relationships, have a strong commitment to inclusive team-working, be flexible and innovative in their approach. Excellent organisational, IT skills and interpersonal skills are essential.
The postholder will be required to travel throughout the North of Tyne area therefore it is essential that you are a car user.
