1 Full time, 37-hour post

 £31,415 per annum

Fixed Term until March 2025

 Are you interested in leading a team to make a difference to the lives of unpaid family carers across the North of Tyne area?

North Tyneside Carers’ Centre, Newcastle Carers and Carers Northumberland are excited to deliver a new project to expand provision for unpaid carers who are looking to return to work, or, for those who are in work and struggling to juggle work alongside caring. This project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund with the North of Tyne Combined Authority as the lead authority.

The postholder will manage delivery of the ‘Working for Carers’ Project on a day to day basis, ensuring the team of advisors are integrated into the three carer organisations across the North of Tyne. This will include:

  • Working closely with the North of Tyne Combined Authority and the Project team to ensure the project meets the needs of carers and delivers the required outputs and outcomes.
  • Overseeing the monitoring and evaluation framework and preparing monitoring reports for the management team and funders.
  • Inducting, supervising and supporting the team of advisors.
  • Screening and allocating referrals and monitoring demand on the service.
  • Networking with organisations and providing information and advice to key stakeholders about the project.

The postholder will have hold a recognised business management or recognised social care (NVQ level 3) qualification and have a minimum of two years’ experience of line managing staff and delivering employability support for adults. They will have experience of: delivering a range of interventions to support adults to return or sustain work; supervising staff with complex and challenging caseloads. They will have the ability to develop effective external relationships, have a strong commitment to inclusive team-working, be flexible and innovative in their approach. Excellent organisational, IT skills and interpersonal skills are essential.

The postholder will be required to travel throughout the North of Tyne area therefore it is essential that you are a car user.
