North Tyneside Carers’ Centre is looking for a compassionate and motivated Carers Wellbeing Worker to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to support unpaid carers to maintain their wellbeing and achieve positive outcomes.
As a Carers Wellbeing Worker, you will provide one-to-one support, advocacy, information and guidance to unpaid carers. You will help unpaid carers navigate complex health and social care systems, identify practical solutions, access support services, and ensure their voices are heard.
About the Role
You will:
- Manage a caseload of carers and provide personalised, outcome-focused support.
- Complete Carers Wellbeing Assessments and develop support plans.
- Provide emotional support, practical guidance and advocacy.
- Support carers through statutory carer assessments and safeguarding processes.
- Work closely with health, social care and voluntary sector partners.
- Help deliver wellbeing activities, training sessions and peer support opportunities.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Caring, compassionate and approachable.
- Passionate about improving outcomes for unpaid carers.
- Experienced in providing information, advice, guidance and advocacy.
- Able to manage a complex caseload and work independently.
- Skilled in building positive relationships with carers and professionals.
- Confident in assessing needs, identifying risks and developing support plans.
- A strong communicator with good IT and record-keeping skills.
Essential Requirements
- At least three years’ experience assessing needs and providing support to carers or other vulnerable individuals.
- Knowledge of carers’ issues and relevant legislation.
- Ability to travel throughout North Tyneside.
