Confidential advice for carers

As a carer juggling appointments, paperwork, worries and day-to-day responsibilities, it is easy to feel alone.

That’s where North Tyneside Carers’ Centre can help. Did you know that we provide a confidential advice and information service for carers?

Our friendly team of advice workers are here to listen, offer guidance and help you find the right support for your situation. They are often the first point of contact for carers getting in touch with us and understand that taking the first step to ask for help can feel difficult.

Our advice workers are trained to support carers with a wide range of issues and can help resolve immediate concerns.

Whether you are looking for practical advice, emotional support or simply someone to talk things through with, our team will take the time to listen.

For example, if you contact us about financial issues, our team can offer advice and point you towards the services or organisations that may be able to help.

No matter what your situation is, we will do our best to make sure you feel supported and know what your next steps could be.

Making the decision to pick up the phone or send an email can stir up a range of emotions. You may be feeling worried, stressed, frustrated or unsure about what to do next.

Our advice workers understand that every caring role is different. They are there to be a caring, non-judgemental listening ear when times are tough and to help you feel less alone.

Sometimes, having someone who understands can make all the difference.

As well as offering advice and information, our team can tell you all about the support groups available at North Tyneside Carers’ Centre.

These groups give carers the opportunity to meet others in similar situations, share experiences and access additional support.

For example, we have support groups for carers of people living with dementia and mental health conditions.

Joining a group can be a great way to build confidence, make connections and take some time for yourself.

Support is available by telephone or email from 10am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.

If you are a carer and feel like you could benefit from advice, information or simply someone to talk to, you can fill in a self referral form on our website or you can contact North Tyneside Carers’ Centre on 0191 249 6480 or email us at enquiries@ntcarers.co.uk
