Carers Trust is delighted to have presented the Excellence for Carers Award to North Tyneside Carers’ Centre.

The award is a Carers Trust standard for best practice in services, advice and information for unpaid carers.

North Tyneside Carers’ Centre, part of Carers Trust’s network of local carer organisations, was rigorously assessed for its service, as well as the quality of its leadership, staff, internal processes and engagement with key local partners and stakeholders.

The organisation, which reaches more than 7,000 adult, young adult and young carers a year, aims to improve the quality of life of carers in North Tyneside so they are able to thrive.

In its report, Carers Trust noted: “North Tyneside Carers Centre is a resilient, innovative, and high-quality organisation where carers are demonstrably at the heart of everything the team does. Staff and trustees are passionate, dedicated, and consistently go above and beyond for the benefit of carers.”

As well as signalling the quality of its services for unpaid carers, the award means North Tyneside Carers’ Centre partners and stakeholders can be confident they are working with an organisation that has best practice and sustainability at the heart of its work.
