Celebrating Carers – Help us shine a light on local heroes
Unpaid carers go above and beyond to support the people they care for, whether that’s a parent, partner, child, friend or neighbour. Carers are often the quiet heroes working behind the scenes, balancing their responsibilities with little recognition.
We believe it’s time to change that.
That’s why we’re launching our Celebrating Carers campaign to highlight and honour the incredible carers who make a difference every single day.
Nominate a carer who inspires you
We want to hear your stories. Do you know someone who’s always putting others first? Someone whose strength, kindness or quiet determination deserves to be recognised?
Whether they’ve been caring for years, or just stepped into the role, we want to celebrate them.
Also, you can nominate an adult carer or a young person you know who takes on caring responsibilities.
- Simply email your nomination to us, see details at the end.
- Share the carer’s name, a few words about what makes them amazing, and – if possible – a photo we can include in our celebrations.
- Nominations are open to all unpaid carers in North Tyneside.
Throughout the campaign, we’ll be sharing these stories on our website and social media channels, giving our local carers the recognition they so deserve.
Why are we doing this?
Carers often go unrecognised and unsupported, yet their work is vital to families, communities, and the wider health and care system. By sharing their stories, we hope to not only say a big thank you, but to raise awareness of what it truly means to be a carer.
The campaign will run throughout August so look out for shoutouts and tributes to those nominated. We’d love as many people as possible to get involved – whether by nominating a carer, sharing our posts, or simply taking a moment to say thank you.
