The Carers’ Centre building may be closed until further notice but all staff are working from home. We are delivering our services remotely to support carers and keep them connected. Regular updates are available on our website.

The Carers’ Centre is here to listen and offer help if you want to talk. Our Advice Line (0191 643 2298) will be open as usual for information, advice and support:

• Monday to Wednesday 10am – 4pm
• Thursday 1pm – 4pm
• Friday 10am – 4pm

If you contact us and go through to voicemail, please leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible. You can also contact us by email at enquiries@northtyneisdecarers.co.uk or use the Live Chat facility on our website.

We are also running a range of online activities and workshops to give carers the chance to connect with others, look after their own wellbeing and help them in their caring role.

These include:
• Peer Support groups
• Wellbeing sessions e.g. Mindfulness, Relaxation, Resilience, Pilates
• Arts and crafts
• Workshops on topics such as First Aid, Supporting someone with Dementia

All of the sessions are free and we can help you to get online if you have any difficulties. We’ve also teamed up with Carers UK to give carers in North Tyneside access to a wide range of digital tools and essential resources that may help make their caring situation easier. The Digital Resource for Carers includes e-Learning modules, factsheets, interactive guides, personalised support, and information.

Topics include:
Health and Wellbeing for Carers
Building Emotional Resilience
Technology and Caring
Financial Planning
Working and Caring
Access to the Care Coordination app

The current situation is bringing a range of challenges to many of us and it can be very difficult, but by following guidance on social distancing, or staying at home, you are helping to protect yourself, your family, the NHS and your community.

You may be worried about your health or the people that you care for and it is very important that you take care of your mind as well as your body during this difficult time and get further support if you need it.

Stay, safe and well
Kind regards Claire Easton, Chief Executive
