Young Adult Carer Group
Young Adult carers meet on a social basis on the last Wednesday of the month during term time. This group offers an opportunity to meet new friends, take part in and plan activities.
Recently the group tested themselves on the high ropes course at GO-APE in Northumberland and visited the cinema and a restaurant at the Gate in Newcastle.
2012 dates are:
January 25th, February 29th, March 28th
April 25th, May 30th, June 27th
September 26th, October 24th and
November 28th.
Our Young Carers’ Project can support you in many ways;
Someone to talk to; we’re here to listen to what you have to say about being a carer, it’s good to off-load now and again
How to cope; your situation may not change, but we can help you find ways of managing how you feel
Advice & Information; need some advice on something or want to get in touch with another organisation? We can help
Education, training & employment; are you uncertain about what to do, or would like to talk about your options
Breaks and events; enjoy some time out from home and the chance to meet other young people who have caring responsibilities
Support from other organisations;
Peer Volunteering; gain some new skills and build your confidence

If you don’t feel comfortable contacting us yourself, then why not speak to an adult you know and ask them to do it on your behalf. It doesn’t have to be the adult you live with, it may be a teacher, someone at college or a social worker…it’s really up to you.
