Support our young carers and 'Stride out to the Lighthouse'!

20/07/2018

It's time to Stride out to the Lighthouse!

Elected Mayor, Norma Redfearn, CBE, is inviting residents and visitors to join her on a family walk on Saturday, 1 September 2018, starting at 10.30 am from the Parks Sports Centre, Howdon Road, North Shields, NE29 6TL.

Active North Tyneside is encouraging people to take part in this FREE 10K family walk; an event that has proved extremely popular in past years.

This year's event will support our Young Carers, with all donations made on the day going to the project.

The six mile walk, which is expected to finish at approximately 1.30 pm, will follow the coastal route, past North Shields Fish Quay, the River Tyne, Tynemouth Priory and Castle along to Whitley Bay, taking in the iconic, newly renovated Spanish City Dome, before reaching St Mary's Lighthouse.

Walkers are encouraged to take a picnic with them to enjoy at the end of the walk, when free entertainment and live music will be provided.

FREE coach transport to take participants back to the Parks will be available.

There may be availability on the day but those wishing to guarantee a place are strongly recommended to register by visiting:
