Art Workshops

There are still place left on our FREE Art Workshop with Artist Pui Lee, where participants can expect to create artworks in a relaxed and supportive environment. Participants will work on a new project each week and activities could include: Painting, collage, mosaic, mask making, claywork to name but a few! Workshops are 2hrs long. All materials, tutors and refreshments are provided free of charge by arts charity LifewithArt. Sessions take place on:

Monday 1st October, 8th October, and 15th October 1pm-3pm.

Venue: Unicorn House, Suez Street, North Shields. NE30 1BB.

Pui Lee will meet participants outside the venue.

Everyday First Aid

If you would like to learn basic first aid then the Carers’ Centre can help you. An Everyday First Aid session is being delivered by the British Red Cross on Thursday 16^th August,10am-12 pm at the Carers’ Centre. The training is FREE and will cover areas such as CPR, dealing with a heart attack, the recovery position and there will be a question and answers section where you can raise any concerns you have.

To book your place please contact us on our usual number, we anticipate that this training will be popular so please book early to avoid disappointment as places are limited.

Autism Support Group

For those caring for someone with Autism. Meet other carers, share your experiences and feed in your views to the Health and Wellbeing Board about how services are working locally.

This focus this month will be for carers to have their views and say in developing a Carers’ Charter.

Carers’ Lunch Club

The Lunch Club is open to all carers and is on every 3rd Thursday of the month 12.30pm-1.30pm.

On 16 August we will meet at Hugo’s, Front Street, Tynemouth.

Walking Group

Guided walk around Jesmond Dene: meet at the entrance to the Dene on Armstrong Bridge on Monday 13 August at 10.30am.

Outing to Durham: meet at the Carers’ Centre on Tuesday 11 September at 10am. Coach leaves Durham at 3pm. The cost to carers is £3.00.

Parent Carers’ Group

Carers’ Coffee Morning
