ADHD Parent Group

July 25, 2012
6:30 pm	to	8:00 pm

For those caring for a child with ADHD, the ADHD Parent Group will be held at the Carers’ Centre between 6.30pm – 8pm.

Arts and Crafts Classes for Cancer Patients and Carers

Starts 5th July, 2012

The six week programme takes place at Sir G.B. Hunter Memorial Hospital, The Green, Wallsend, Tyne and Wear NE28 7PB

The course is aimed at people who are undergoing or have completed cancer treatment or carers.

Topics include:Clay making, painting, metal work, weaving and much much more……You can also share experiences with others in a similar situation to yourself in a friendly informal setting.

Sessions take place on Thursday afternoons 1-3pm. The service is completely free and refreshments are provided.To book a place Please phone Macmillan Support Services on 0191 2194618 as places are limited

Caring can make you unwell

Joint Carers Week research from Carers UK and the seven other charity partners has shown that two in five carers are sacrificing their own health by putting off medical treatment to care.

The survey also revealed that caring had a negative impact on 83% of carers’ physical health, with 36% of carers sustaining a physical injury through caring. A further 87% said caring has had a negative impact on their mental health.
